Love is in the air. Rita Ora and her husband are truly a power couple. The “You & I” singer and the Thor: Love And Thunder director tied the knot in 2022 and we’re taking a look back on their relationship.

The Kosovo-born British singer rose to fame after being signed to Roc Nation and releasing her debut album Ora which scored 4 UK Top Ten Singles on the charts. She contributed to the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack with the hit “For You” in 2015 and later left Roc Nation to sign with Atlantic Records. The Voice UK judge had very private relationships with Calvin Harris, Andrew Wyatt, and Andrew Garfield.

Rita Ora’s husband is Taika Waititi. The two met in 2018 when they were introduced to each other by Robert Pattinson at a house party, but started their relationship in 2021. Fans speculated that the two were linked when Waititi was spotted in one of “Let You Love Me” singer’s Instagram posts. Shortly after, the two were spotted kissing with Thor: Love And Thunder star Tessa Thompson.

The two confirmed their relationship by going public during the red-carpet premiere of The Suicide Squad. They also made appearances as a couple at the 2021 Met Gala, Vanity Fair Oscars Party and when Ora hosted the MTV European Music Awards.

Ora and Waititi confirmed they got married in August 2022 in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles. Ora proposed to Waititi and he immediately said yes.

“My sister walked me down the aisle, and it was just really simple and blissful and calm and private and fun,” Ora recalled to Vogue.

“Yeah, it was beautiful,” Waititi shared the same sentiment. “Just having close friends and not having it too big. We didn’t have table settings or any of the stressful things that go along with weddings, and it was nice to just have it super-simple. My daughters were there, and they made everything really fun and easy: I think just because we didn’t have the pressure of having caterers and all of these things, you know, people turning up late, and all of the different moving parts.”

Since then, they have gushed about each other in the press. The Reservation Dogs producer recalled that the 2023 Writer’s Guild Strike helped them bond. “For the most part, I would like to take a few holidays and go and follow Rita around,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “Just be her little tour toy boy and hang out with her and just watch her perform and get her a cup of tea backstage.”

He further praised her and her career. “She left school early to become a fucking massive pop star,” he proclaimed, “and as a result says the fucking coolest things. She’s like, ‘I walk around the corner, and slow and behold, it was right in front of me.’ And I’m like, ‘Babe, it’s lo and behold.’ And she’s like, ‘No, slow and behold, way better.’ I’m like, ‘You’re not wrong. Slow and behold sounds fucking better.’ ”

Recently, Waititi even revealed that they went to a Shrek-themed Airbnb and dressed up for the part with Ora as Fiona and Waititi as Shrek. “Everyone would think that we had a camera and stuff, but that was just us two driving to the middle of nowhere. She painted herself green, she revealed she had brought these costumes, and that we were getting content,” he told Kelly Clarkson on her show. “I was like, ‘I didn’t realize this romantic trip was about content.'”
